Questions & Answers

Q: I’m also an artist and I would like to remix your music. Is that OK?
A: Sure. Let me know and if possible I can mail you parts for the remix. If it turns out good we can try to get it released professionally.

Q: I’m a singer and would like us to cooperate.
A: That would be great. If you have access to a sound studio, and if you are any good of course. Contact me!

Q: I would like you to remix my track.
A: Cool! Send it to me and I will listen to it and let you know if I think I can do something interesting with it.

Q: Can I use your music for my commercial/flash/computer game etc?
A: Some of my tracks are available for licensing through Shockwave-sound.com. If you can’t find the track you want to use there, then please contact me and I will see if we can work something out.

Q: I would like to have your music on my web site/blog/facebook/myspace etc.
A: Cool. Allmost all of my music is uploaded to Soundcloud. You can use one of their embedded players if you want to include my tracks on your site.

Q: In which towns/countries do you play/DJ?
A: Sorry, I’m (only) a producer. I don’t tour or DJ as this point.

Q: How come you don’t update your blog/site so often, like every day.
A: I only write when I have something interesting to write about. Sometimes that happens a couple of times per day and sometimes it’s a week between postings. I don’t see this site as my personal psychiatrist and I don’t have to horde visitors for ads so..  :)

Q: How do you go about producing your music? What stuff do you use?
A: Check out my studio page for my hardware and software. I’m old school and still use a lot of hardware, though recently I’ve also started to work with software synths and effects. I use Ableton Live Suite to record stuff from my synths. Then it’s a lot of copying and pasting back and forth, adding effects and stuff, and then if I’m lucky, something good emerges in the end. Remixing is always a lot easier for me. For every original track by me, I usually do 4-5 remixes of other artists.

Q: How much money do you make from remixing other artists?
A: Almost nothing. When I do remixes I prefer to do  “swap remixes” (you do mine and I’ll do yours), because there’s not really any money to make in royalties from remixes. It’s a bit discouraging to spend a couple of weeks doing the perfect remix, and then you get, at best, $10-20 in royalties (which are almost never payed by the record companies, because the sum is too low).

Q: What do you do when you are not releasing great tracks?
A: I work as a web developer/designer and I write articles for printed magazines in Sweden like Macworld and Studio. Making a living from making music is pretty hard these days – it’s not impossible but I like the higher living standards that my safe job provides me with. :) My dream is of course to be able to make a living on my music but the older I get, the further away my dream seems to slip. Sad, but hey that’s life. I just need that one hit, man.. just that one hit.. ;)

Q: Do you have a mobile site?
A: Yes. Just type m.fogelberg.com into your smart phone browser if you want to stream my music on a mobile device.

Q: Do you have Facebook fan page?
A: Yes. It’s here. (link).
