I’ve added another track to Soundcloud. It’s the unreleased Dumb Dan edit of my remix of Miroslav Terzin’s track Funkstatic. The original and remix was released on XAKK Records in 2007.
One of my older unreleased remixes.. I still like this one.
My second album “Karooshi Porn” from 1999 can now be downloaded from CD Baby. CD Baby is the largest online distributor of independent music.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet is one of my all time favourite movie directors. Classics like Delicatessen, The city of lost children, Amelie and A Very Long Engagement makes me want to forgive the really crappy ending of Alien: Resurrection. His latest creation, Micmacs, has been played on film festivals around the world for a while. I’m not sure when I can watch it in Sweden so at the moment I will have to suffice with this marvelous trailer.
This is a new version of a track I originally did around 10 years ago. It’s a bit different compared to my latest stuff – not really danceable – it’s kinda quirky electronish, with some trance’ish elements.. and it has a sample of a live bass player.
I just remastered my old 90’s remix/cover of Klaus Schulze called “Brave new sequence”. Now it has fuller and a bit brighter sound. Check it out!
Such a strange and long process it is for me to create my own music nowadays. Remixing other artists are usually not a problem. I tend to pin that down in a week or two. But my own stuff.. can take months to finish. I probably spend around 80-90% of that time testing out different arrangements, then throwing them away when listening to it the next day. Testing different drums, different sounds, different basslines. Then once in a while, just maybe.. if all the stars are correctly aligned, I get a sudden flash of inspiration and rebuild and finish the whole track in a couple of hours. I just wish those flashes could come more often. I need a break from life so I can make more music. Oh well..
I have added three older remixes to the soundcloud player, located to the right. My ambient remix of Mystical Sun – Nebulous mist (unreleased), and my remix/cover versions of Jean Michel Jarre – Zoolook and Klaus Schulze’s Brave old sequence.
Junkie XL teams up with semi god Jan Hammer resulting in an orgy of 80’s synths and beats. The cheeky Miami Vice video is just too good to handle. Don’t miss the Jan Hammer synth solo at the end.
Here’s another amazing short. Nuit Blanche, directed by Arev Manoukian explores a fleeting moment between two strangers, revealing their brief connection in a hyper real fantasy.
